Now this is a bit embarrassing: Microsoft’s posted a number of videos online showing off its new Garageband competitor, Songsmith, except it’s shown in all its glory on an Apple MacBook Pro… which already comes with Garageband installed for free.
It’s far from the first time Microsoft has been spotted using Apple hardware in its ads. Some of the first Vista promos used MacBook Pros, so it shouldn’t really be a surprise to see one popping up in its Songsmith promos. But it is.
See, to install Songsmith on that computer, you’ll need to shell out around £160 for Windows XP, and £26 for Songsmith itself. And that’s on top of the hardware, which already comes with Mac OS X and Garageband installed for free.
A serious boo-boo, or did Microsoft just want a good looking laptop to show off its new software? See the ad, along with some of the cheesiest acting we’ve ever seen, and give us a shout below.
