Bank Panic is a fair stab at replicating the classic Game & Watch electronic games on the iPhone, with a (slightly) satirical twist.
Remember the old Nintendo Game & Watch games? Little LCD videogames, often with two screens a la the DS? Yes, those.
Bank Panic recreates the look of the games on the iPhone screen almost perfectly – right down to the ‘ghost’ images of the characters on the segmented LCD display. The only major difference is that there never was a Bank Panic Game & Watch – the original Bank Panic was an arcade shoot ‘em up & the game presented here is a sort of mashup of Parachute and Fire!
The player must move a trampoline left and right to catch bankers who are throwing themselves from the windows of an office block. Brilliantly, the game’s difficulty is based on the current Dow Jones index – the game will check the current level of financial catastrophe every time you start it up and recalibrate to suit.
