The Asus Eee Keyboard has been a mystery since its surprise unveiling at CES last week. But now we know exactly what’s inside that aluminium shell, and it’s more powerful than you’d expect.

There’s a 1.6Ghz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of memory and a choice of either 16GB or 32GB of solid state storage. That’s on top of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wireless HDMI and sockets for two USB connections, a VGA monitor and HDMI output.

There are also connections for audio input and output. But now for the strange part: Asus is only planning to include Windows XP Home, not Media Centre Edition, and there’s no TV tuner built in.

That’s odd, considering Asus says it’s a perfect media hub, able to be moved around the home and connect to virtually any screen.

We’re still waiting for firm pricing and availability too. But will you consider it when Asus finally puts it on sale? Shout up below.
