Excited by the Asus Eee PC Touch? So excited you can’t possibly wait for Asus to box and ship the T91 to get all that touchscreen panel goodness? How about this then: presenting the Viliv MID S7 netbook. It does everything the T91 does, but it’s actually coming out soon!
Cruising the halls of CES in Las Vegas today, we were about to pass the MID S7 over as yet another netbook, when the specs and the hinge made us do a double take. An Atom chip and 80GB of hard drive are run for the course, but just like the T91, it’s got a rotating touchscreen that folds down on itself, tablet style. Unlike the T91, there’s Wimax and HSDPA connectivity too for fast downloads on the move.
From our play with it, the S7′s not as robust as the T91, and the screen is smaller (Seven inches, though the 1024×600 resolution isn’t to be smirked at), but if you want to doodle on your laptop right away, Viliv says it’ll be out in Korea at least by February, so pencil the date in to start browsing eBay.
Out February | £TBC | Viliv
