Intel Classmate PC gets twistable

It’s all the range, this netbook/tablet trend. First Asus debuts the Eee PC Touch, then we find another netbook doing the exact same thing on the show floor at CES, and now Intel has confirmed that the Classmate PC will become a “convertible”.

Just like the Eee T91, the new Classmate will swivel 180 degrees on itself, folding down to become a tablet touchscreen, designed with students and classrooms in mind: a feature called “palm rejection” ignores clumpy kids’ palms on the screen, recognising just finger pokes.

There’s no confirmation if this is an update to the current Classmate or will sell simultaneously along side its less limber sibling, but we’ll birng you pricing and specs when we get ‘em.
