Samsung has just wheeled out its all-new HT-BD8200 soundbar with a built-in Blu-ray player. This slinky bit of sub-telly-dwelling home entertainment kit spews out virtual 5.1 surround sound, ticking the sonics box and matching its ear-pleasing credentials with Full HD 1080p video playback.
Plus, it’s got a few other nifty tricks tucked up its slinky sleeve…
Samsung has stretched its tech legs to ensure the HT-BD8200 soundbar is reasonably discreet as well as stylish – it comes with a smart wireless subwoofer that can be tucked away without fear of wire hell. Plus, the main soundbar speaker unit if only 2.6 inched deep, meaning it can easily be squished onto the tightest ledge or mantlepiece.
Fully BD Live compatible, it’s prepped for Internet-savvy services and from day one it’s equipped to use Netflix for instant movie streaming and Pandora for music Stateside. No word yet of how BD Live will manifest itself in Samsung’s soundbar in the UK, but we’ll keep you posted.
