Nokia N79 owners who have been itching to try out that device’s Over The Air updates – your day has come!
The N79′s first update takes the firmware to version 11.049 and fixes a metric shedload of bugs in the operating system and many of the bundled applications.
The camera app will now stabilise video correctly, the LED flash will work at full brightness and the app will not hang (or at least, nor hang as much – there may be other as-yet-undiscovered bugs). The FM transmiter gets a bunch of improvements, including the ability to keep working after a voice call.
Users can update their phones (providing they have a decent 3G or wifi signal) by pressing *#0000# from the standby screen to get into the Firmware OTA service.
