Casio compact camera tech just got jaw-dropping. It’s just announced the EX-FC100, Casio’s first point and shoot camera to offer video filming at an immense 1,000fps for Matrix style slow-mo.
Ever wondered what a corn kernel looks like unfurling in the blink of an eye? Now you can catch it in the act with your compact. Casio’s EX-FC100 and lower line EX-FS10 have just been unveiled at CES and they do just that. Picture quality at speeds like that remain to be seen, but fitting tech previously only seen in SLRs into a compact shell should pull the attention away from Panasonic’s Lumix range.
Slow-mo shooting aside, the FC100 is a more than decent regular snapper, with a nine megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom and 720p HD video all tucked away inside (The FS10 only has 3x zoom). No dating just yet, but expect them out sometime this year, with the FC100 floating around the $400 mark.
