Robot ruler WowWee has unveiled an iPhone and iPod cinema box, simply dubbed the Cinemin Station. Okay, so it’s not an iPhone robot with a ClickWheel bellybutton or Multi-touch toes, but WowWee‘s collaboration with Texas Instruments has nonetheless resulted in a smart cinematic twist on the normal iPhone and iPod dock thanks to a built-in pico projector.
The Cinemin Station is just one of a trio of Cinemin gadgets to erupt from WowWee’s robotic loins, joined by the Cinemin Swivel and Cinemin Stick pico projectors. Each is designed to be used with iPhone and iPod (they play nice with other portable devices too), the Cinemin Station pico projector boasts a pair of beefy speakers, SD memory card slots, headphone socket, iPod and iPhone charging station and touch controls, neatly wrapped up in a tasty tight little polished package.
As for the Cinemin Swivel pico projector, it does indeed swivel on a hinge for the purpose of projecting images onto the ceiling, and will spit out movies for up to three hours before needing more juice. Whereas the Cinemin Stick pico projector is purely a super compact projector, er, without its sibling’s swivelicious prowess, but it does come with 4GB of internal memory.
June 2009 | Cinemin Station $399 (£270), Stick $349 (£240), Swivel $299 (£200) | WowWee
