You’ve probably never heard of Logic Wireless, and if we’re honest, neither had we, until today. But it’s just unveiled the world’s first projector phone, able to throw images against flat surfaces. Interested now, aren’t you?

Dubbed the Logic Bolt, it’s just been unveiled at CES in Las Vegas, able to create an image up to 64 inches across.

OK, so it’s not high definition, and the handset itself looks pretty ugly, but inside there’s also a 3 megapixel camera, GPS and a touchscreen. It’ll also play nice with files from Microsoft Office, so it’s far from a one-trick pony.

And it’s not just its own photos or video clips it can project. There’s an input for any other video source too, so it’ll pull double duty as a projector for use with a laptop, set-top box or games console.

T-Mobile will be the exclusive carrier of the phone in the US, with the handset costing $100 with a two year contract. SIM-free, it’ll be available for $600 when it goes on sale later this year.

Love this idea, and really hope projectors become a standard feature in the same way cameras did. My only reservation is how inventive the back-of-the-bus crew will get with projection devices. Travelling in London is already a bit of a trial without music videos being projected on to your body as you try and read the paper
