Sharp has just whipped the covers off the world’s first TVs with Blu-ray built in, the Aquos BD range, for hi-def movie viewing sans all the fiddle. Get all the details after the jump!
Coming in five different sizes (52, 46, 42, 37 and 32 inches) the Aquos BD range of LCD HDTVs all sport 1080p panels and a side loading slot for Blu-ray discs, DVDs and CDs.
There’s a healthy four HDMI sockets round the back too, though finding devices for all of them could be a challenge with Blu-ray inside.
Externally, they’re sticking with the whole “Blu” theme by popping a glowing blue light underneath, which while not especially clever is quite pretty. The two bigger models are out next month, but for those with a smaller living room and smaller wallet, the lower end screens will be on sale this month.
