Duck Hunter is an ingenious idea that sees you hurl a flapping autonomous mechanical duck into the air and attempt to shoot it down with an infrared gun. Shoot it thrice and it falls out of the sky and bites the dust. Get the full details here…
Bearing a striking resemblance to the concept of Nintendo’s classic Duck Hunt game for NES, we’re assured by the creators of Duck Hunter, that this is completely different. When we asked one of the creators if Nintendo had seen it, the answer was no, followed by an outburst of fidgets verging on convulsions of discomfort resembling a dying duck. Nonetheless, if Nintendo does let Duck Hunter fly it’s certain to be a serious success, because it’s genuinely an awesome idea that works brilliantly in the flesh.
Made by the Interactive Toy Concepts (ITC), this version is launching in the Spring. Plus, there’s another version called Duck Hunter Xtreme that comes with an extra controller that lets one player remote control the duck and attempt to fly it craftily to avoid the other players attempt to gun it down with virtual bullets. This version is only coming out in Autumn… that is if Nintendo’s lawyers haven’t ambushed them in the tall grass and plucked ITC to within an inch of its life.
Out: Spring 2009 | $29.99 (£20) | Interactive Toy Concepts
