Asus has just blown Apple out of the water with its own keynote today before CES: it’s just whipped the covers off a MacBook Air-burning laptop with a huge 512GB of solid state memory, the S121.
The S121 is the follow up to the Taiwanese tech company’s super posh S101 laptop. At 12 inches, it’s definitely gunning for the Apple’s slimline lappy, and it beats the Air’s memory by a country mile.
Looks wise it sports the same polished black look as the S101, and while it’s a little bit thicker than the Air, varying between 0.9 and 1 inches thick, it weights precisely the same at just 3lbs.
Under the bonnet there’s an Intel Atom processor, but we’re far more impressed by the flash drive. Low power consumption means the battery lasts a whopping 8 hours, and Asus claims it runs twice as fast as previous SSDs. We’ll track down pricing and pics ASAP.
