The T91 is Asus' first Touch Eee PC

Despite the number of Eee models proliferating like rabbits over the last year, the Atom -powered 9 inch model has started to get a little stale. Asus has scrapped that though, unveiling a brand new Eee PC Touch range, starting with the twistable T91.

At first glance, it doesn’t seem to differ too much from your usual Eee: 2lbs on the weight scales, an Atom Z7520 processor and an 8.9″ screen don’t stand out, even if it is a touchscreen panel.

Where it comes into its own though is the ability to rotate the screen all the way round and shut it down facing upwards. Combined with touchscreen controls, the T91 doubles up great as an easel or workboard for groups.

We saw Asus’ “Doorways” interface in action on it, and while it is simply Windows XP with a pretty shell over the top, it looks intuitive and beautiful, and a TV tuner and GPS are happy little extras on a computer of any size. No pricing details just yet, but we’ll let you know when we find out.
