With its LEGO interpretations of Star Wars, Batman and Indiana Jones proving rather popular, developer Traveller’s Tales is rumoured to be thinking outside the self-assembled box in the hunt for a new theme for the franchise to tackle.
Until this week, the rumour mill had been grinding away at the idea of LEGO Harry Potter – a licence owned by Warner Bros., who recently acquired Traveller’s Tales. If an anonymous leak to website VideoGaming 247 is correct, however, the company is thinking along the lines not of another character or film series to ‘do’ but of a LEGO take on musical behemoth Rock Band.
VG247 seem to think that the source is legit, but it does seem an odd fit – for starters, LEGO minifigs don’t speak, so having them sing will be a bit weird. Secondly, there isn’t exactly a wealth of LEGO-related music around. Perhaps they will go along the Bob the Builder/Another Brick in the Wall/Bloc Party route.
