There’s just over 24 hours to go until the big day now, but if you’ve ignored all our advice and left the shopping to the last minute, don’t panic.
You can probably forget about picking up a Wii in time for Crimbo, but there’s still some fab offers for spendthrifts on the high street.
What are you waiting for? Get your shoes on, dust off the credit card and get the lowdown after the jump – hurry!
GAME
If you’re looking for last minute stocking fillers, GAME is doing a fantastic double deal on truckloads of Nintendo Wii and DS games. If you need to appease the Ninty lover in your life, splash out on one game in the selected ranger and you’ll get another entirely free. Admittedly, there’s a reason some of the games are buy-one-get-one-free, but they’re not all duffers by any means: on the DS you’ve got Animal Crossing Wild World and the comedy Cooking Mama 2 to entertain kids, as well as Smackdown VS Raw 2008 to keep the pubescent boys occupied. Some choice titles on the Wii too, including Splinter Cell Double Agent and the cracking Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. Fingers crossed they’re still in stock when you get there!
HMV
His Master’s Voice has a brilliant bundle of boxsets at budget prices this winter, and with any luck some of them will still be there by the time you get down there. High on our wishlist are the full West Wing series knocked down from £200 to £50, all six season of 24 for £70 and every Rocky film for £15 (You can throw away V afterwards), but there’s plenty more, film and telly!
Currys Digital
Currys is probably the place to be for bagging a netbook at the last minute, but it’s also offering fifty per cent off on a range of quality compacts digital cameras to entice anyone doing an Arnie in Jingle All The Way. There’s some serious shutterboxes in there including a 10 megapixel Samsung P1000 knocked down from £160, and a Kodak MD1063 for the same £80 so you can capture the memories of a cheap and cheery Christmas. Just be sure to hide the receipt.
