Mum, dad, the pet – there’s two more people you’re still forgetting to buy for, and there’s just a few days left now before Christmas. Grandparents. Granted, they’re more likely to be grateful for a new tea cosy than the latest gadget gear, but we’ve found a few that won’t confuse them too much, whether they’re in their fifties or nineties. Read on to see!

You might not want to touch your grandmother’s stocking anytime soon, but here’s some fillers for it this Christmas under £20.
Motorola W180
Help gran or granddad stay in touch for under a fiver with Motorola’s ultimate budget blower. The W180 costs just £2.89 at Carphone Warehouse, and still packs a colour screen so they can see what they’re dialling, an FM radio ad the ability to text if they’re feeling adventurous. We suggest you buy them some top up as well and put it on – trying to explain the concept of typing in 16 digit codes for money could get complicated.
USB Heated Slippers
Are your grandparents silver surfers? Slot this USB powered heating pad into the back of the computer for them and it’ll toast their totes no end while they shop on Amazon or play World Of Warcraft, or whatever it is that older net users do. It’s only £10 now from find-me-a-gift.

Value your relatives a bit more? Maybe you should buy them one of these, though you might end up patronising them in the process. Which we haven’t been doing here at all.
Binatone Speakeasy mobile
Fifty pounds is a lot more to spend an a mobile for another than £2.89, but the added features on this specially made handset are perfect for them. No squinting needed: massive buttons so they can see what they’re dialling, loud ringtones and speakerphone, hearing aid compatibility and best of all, an actual notepad stuck on the back of it to jot down memos.

Go crazy, splash out – if your grandparents don’t like these gifts, you can probably take them yourself without them noticing!
PocketSurfer 2R
Does your grandma use her Nokia N96’s HSDPA speed internet to surf when she’s on the bus to bingo? We’re guessing not. She might use this though, thanks to a wide and visible screen, plus a full QWERTY keypad and even a trackpad. It’s only £160 for a year, and for an extra £60 you can provide them with unlimited internet access on it permanently, pre-paid.
Nintendo Wii
Ninty’s motion sensor console has been going down a storm at old folks’ homes across the country thanks to the intuitive likes of Wii Sports, and if you can find one in stock, your grandparents can get a bit of the action too for £180. Just don’t let them play the boxing. That will end in tears and broken hips.
Tefal Quick Cup Kettle
Old people love a good brew, and now they can get through even more cups in a day with Tefal’s Quick Cupper. Boils or chills water in just three seconds for a serious earl grey addiction. It’s also “energy saving”, although we’re not sure how that follows, and doubt that they’ll care anyway. Better hurry though, only five left on Amazon for £60.

I think the Nintendo Wii is a great gift for any age grandchild.
