No way! Who could have seen this coming? Omega Pharma have withdrawn their E-Waves ‘anti-radiation’ chip from sale after doubts were raised on its effectiveness.
The over-the-counter pharmaceuticals company claimed that the E-Waves chip – essentially a sticker with some bits of metal in it – could counteract the effects of radiation emitted by a mobile phone using “a quantum physical information wave that is in counter-phase with the harmful components of the electromagnetic waves.”
Some people though that these claims may not hold up to rigorous scientific tests, to put it mildly. “After the launch… a storm of protest broke out during which scientific proof of doctors and professors was brought into doubt,” said an Omega Pharma spokesperson.
After conceding that the product may not be quite as effective as advertised, Omega Pharma have now withdrawn the E-Waves, pending further tests.
