The new title from Nintendo will not, sadly, be called Leg Training but it will supposedly help you to, er, walk better with the aid of two pedometer add-ons.

Walk With Me! Do you know your walking routine? will come with two little plastic gizmos (known as Activity Meters) that you can slip into your pocket or bag as you waddle about all day in the shambling gait you refer to as ‘walking’. Your DS can slurp up the data from the pocket sensors and show you in great detail how to straighten up and walk like a man. Or woman/child.

The cartridge will come up with motivational games to keep you active (we assume these will involve sticking the Activity Meters in your pocket and performing some kind of task) and accumulated walking distance can be used to unlock more mini games and rewards.

It’s a novel concept – not least because it sounds like a DS game that you play mainly without your DS, returning the Activity Meters to the handheld after you finish ‘playing’ to tally your score.
