If you have a Visa card with US bank Chase (unlikely if you are reading this, but bear with us – this may end up hitting other banks/countries at some point) and use a G1 Android phone there is now a card management application that is straight up your strasse.
The app has three main components – a ‘deal finder’ that locates good prices at shops that accept your credit card, a ‘coupon’ applet that will find discounts for you and – most importantly – a transaction monitor that alerts you whenever your card is used (to help catch fraudsters) and helps you keep track of your legitimate spends.
There are obviously some caveats here about the security of your credit card data, but assuming you are happy to trust all the parties involved this could be really useful. It is Chase-customers only at present, but this is a Visa product so hopefully they will make it available to other Visa providers.
