Aww, it fair warms the cockles of your heart – with perhaps just a hint of wincing. Two gamers who met during a Halo death match are set to wed in a Halo-themed wedding, officiated by Master Chief himself.
Well, not really – he doesn’t really exist – but certainly a man wearing a Master Chief costume will be performing the ceremony in January as Desirai Labrada (29) marries John Henry (26).
The pair are devoted gamers – the wedding was Desirai’s idea, incidentally -who fell in love while providing suppressing fire for one another in Halo‘s campaign mode.
In an act of devotion of which Barbara Cartland herself would have been proud, Desirai took Dramamine to counter motion sickness and ensure she had her man’s back during extended sessions. I can’t actually believe that I just typed those words, much as you may have had difficulty reading them.
As well as a Halo ringworld-shaped wedding cake, the battle-armoured official and a wedding march consisting of the Halo menu screen theme (I really wish I was making this up) the happy couple will forego a first dance in favour of an all-comers Halo tournament.
