If you’ve got a Nokia, Samsung or Sony Ericsson smartphone, you’re in for a treat next year, as Firefox Mobile, or Fennec, hits Symbian handsets.

According to The Link Experts, Fennec will hit handsets by April 2009, bringing a slew of tasty features, from innovative tab management to full-screen browsing and a revamped intelligent address bar.

Fennec is already available for anyone using a Nokia Internet Tablet or Windows Mobile phone, but Symbian’s installed on more handsets than either of those, so it’s a major milestone for the Firefox team.

We could even see a beta version hit by February, going head to head with each handset’s default web-viewer, as well as the likes of Opera Mini.
