A BitTorrent news site has revealed that despite Gears Of War 2, Fable II and Fallout 3 all being available over the peer-to-peer network, Spore was the most downloaded pirated game of 2008.
Within 10 days of launch, over 500,000 people had grabbed a cracked copy – possibly due to controversy and concerns over its DRM. By now it’s been downloaded 1.7 million times, according to TorrentFreak. That nearly puts it on a par with the most popular movies and TV series.
