If like us your house has more draughts than the local Weatherspoons, you’re in luck. Black and Decker just debuted its Thermal Leak Detector, using infrared sensors to pinpoint the source of cold spots in the house.
It looks deliciously space-age, and works by shining a light onto the wall around doors and windows. As you move the light, the device will sense the temperature of the surface it’s pointed at. As soon as it hits a cold spot, wham, the light turns from red to blue!
Black and Decker reckon it’ll help you save 20% of your heating (or cooling) energy costs, assuming you use it well and plug all the draughts.
It’ll hit stores in January, costing $40, or £27.
