OK, so underneath it’s a pretty poor phone. There’s no camera, the screen’s tiny and there’s only a little more memory than your average goldfish. But that’s not the point.
Based on Sonim’s ultra-hard XP3 phone, the Land Rover S1 and S2 will withstand temperatures up to 60C, and keep working after they’ve been cooled to -20C.
Hitting 40 countries next year, they might not suit the stylish sensibilities of the Chelsea tractor crowd, but for serious off-roaders, we couldn’t recommend them more.
