James Armstrong is Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s Chief Executive for southern Europe. Speaking to Spanish newspaper El Financiero on Sony’s financials, Armstrong has let slip that Gran Turismo 5 will be landing in Europe in time for Christmas 2009.
El Financiero, by the magic of Google translation, quotes Armstrong as saying “the new version of Gran Turismo will arrive at Christmas next year”. Armstrong also admitted that videogame sales have started to drop off in Europe, but expects them to lift for this Christmas.
On top of that, the article quotes Armstrong as saying 50 per cent of Spanish PS3 owners use PlayStation Network, with them having racked up 2.5 billion Euros worth of downloaded content so far.
Finally, Armstrong hints at another key Sony game for Christmas 2009, a “thriller, in which the player may be designing their own history”. Quite what that actually means after translation is unclear. Any thoughts anyone?
