Buying a BMW? You’ll soon be able to customise it using one of Microsoft’s fancy touchscreen Surface computers. The German carmaker will be bringing the technology to showrooms worldwide too, in what could be the first taste of Surface for British tech fans.

Allowing customers to twiddle interior colours and their car’s paint job, it’s complete overkill, obviously, but still incredibly cool. BMW is calling it the “BMW product navigator” but it’s the same Surface we know and love.

We particularly like the way it calls up videos and pictures of the set-up on a separate screen, as well as letting customers save their configuration to an e-mail or USB stick.
