Let’s hail a cab and head for Real Street; mobile phone technology moves along at a blistering rate, quite frankly. And it’s only because our generation is used to such rapid change (all-night discotheques, MTV etc) that we’re not all that overwhelmed by it all. But to the generation before us and even the one before that – it’s all…well, a lot to take in.
Mobile retailer Communic8 is taking orders for a new Binatone Speakeasy handset, which claims to be the cheapest big-button mobile for older people in the UK. The Speakeasy has been designed to be as easy to use as possible. For just a thrifty, it features an extra-large text display, big buttons and a dedicated SMS key to access text messaging.
It’s compatible with digital hearing aids, has a special loud ringer, and doubles up as a torch Plus, apparently, there’s a notepad on the back. The handset is SIM-free so it can be used on any operator.
