Sick of getting hand cramp trying to send text messages to your PlayStation Network buddies? Don’t worry, salvation for your twisted sinews is now in sight; Sony has revealed the launch details of its new PlayStation 3 Wireless Keypad accessory. The Chatpad clone will be available from 28th November – just in time for Resistance 2 – and will cost £24.99.

As the name implies, the Wireless Keypad gives you a full set of QWERTY keys to make typing on the console a little bit easier.

It clips into Sixaxis and DualShock 3 controllers, although unlike the similar Xbox 360 Chatpad, it fits to the top of the controller, rather than the bottom. That should make it a bit easier to play games while it’s attached, but might not do wonders for the actual typing.

One major advantage is does have over the Chatpad is that it includes a touch-pad for mouse cursor control, and we’ll be interested to see how well it works. Its downfall could be that most traditional touch-pads, on laptops for example, have a solid base, but in this case you’ll be supporting it in your hand. Oddly, we also can’t spot it on the official pic – let us know if you can work out where it’s hiding.

The Keypad also includes shortcut buttons for Communications and Message box.
