Humax PVR-9300T

Owners of Humax’s PVR-9150T and PVR-9300T digital TV recorders will finally be able to watch telly in peace after the company announced the availability of a software fix to eliminate pesky fan noise.

The 9150T and 9300T, which let you record 2 channels at once, have been beset by bothersome fan noise, but new Smart Fan Control software is now ready to be zapped over the airwaves to sort it out.

Now fan noise will kept to a minimum, only kicking in when necessary, before switching off for uninterrupted telly. Even better, it could be Humax’s first step to quieter machines in future.

Updates for the PVR-9300T will take place between 27th-29th November, while PVR-9150T users will get their box fixed between 5th -  8th December. The updates will be delivered over the air, but will only be downloaded when the boxes are in standby mode.

Hooray for a manufacturer that cares about customers AFTER they’ve paid their money! I’ve seen the option for over-the-air updates in Freeview boxes before, but never heard of an update actually being made! When I replace the freeview box in the bedroom, it’ll probably be with a Humax PVR now!
