Yesterday we told you about Toshiba’s new upscaling TVs finally going on sale, and now we’ve seen the absurdly clever TV ad that’ll launch them.

It’s filmed in what Toshiba calls “timesculpture,” building on the bullet time technology of films like The Matrix to show a 3D scene.

It’s built up using footage from 200 Toshiba Gigashot HD camcorders, pumping out over 20 Terabytes of video data. The company says it took 336 hours to process.

Have a peep at the video below. We think you’ll agree, it’s pretty impressive, and while you might think “they’ve just shot it with cameras from every angle” – we can’t see cameras on the opposite side of the studio… can you?
