If you needed another reason to slap down your cash and buy a T-Mobile G1, how about this: clever developers have cooked up a way to use the phone as a wireless broadband dongle for your laptop.
The process, known as tethering, lets the laptop share the mobile’s internet connection using USB.
It’s not an uncommon practice, but T-Mobile had earlier said it wouldn’t be possible, despite users asking for it and other mobiles, such as the BlackBerry Storm, offering it as standard.
Even the iPhone has dabbled with tethering, although its first net-sharing app was quickly ripped from the iTunes Store and has yet to make a reappearance.
Those interested in tethering a T-Mobile G1 to their laptop can find instructions here.
