Nokia has confirmed it’ll launch a ton of touchscreen N-Gage games early next year, neglecting to mention that its only touchscreen phone is the 5800 XpressMusic, which doesn’t support N-Gage. That must mean there’s a finger-friendly N-Series just around the corner!
Jaakko Kaidesoja, Nokia’s head of gaming operations told Reuters the phone firm is working hard on touchscreen support for N-Gage, which will debut in 2009.
He also said there would be 30 N-Gage games available by the end of this year, with momentum building over the next six months.
But if Nokia’s building in touchscreen abilities for N-Gage, it’ll need a whole new handset. What shape will it take? Nokia’s keeping quiet, although the company’s director of marketing for India, Devinder Kishore, has already let slip that a touchscreen N-Series will arrive “very soon.”
“We will have lots of touchscreen phones coming up, including an N-series device very soon” he said at an event in New Delhi last month.
In the meantime, what do you want from a touchscreen N-Series. Will N-Gage be enough?
