The hilarious Android paean G1 Love may have declared that the T-Mobile G1 had everything including the kitchen sink… but it sure as hell doesn’t have a built-in laser pen.
Gadget-heads rejoice then at the news that open source gadget developer OpenMoko has announced plans for an Android-compatible phone, codenamed GTA02, containing pretty much everything you could possibly imagine. The handset is expected to look like OpenMoko’s Neo FreeRunner.
According to a source that AndroidGuys spoke to, specs will include a 2.8-inch, 640×480 touch screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, three-axis accelerometer, 400-500 MHz processor, 128 MB RAM, 256 MB NAND Flash, A-GPS or GPS… and a 4-in-1 laser pen. 3G, though, is notably absent.
Do you want a laser pen in your phone? And after Asus and Motorola, who do you think will be next to board the Android bandwagon? Leave your comments in the box below…

It makes sense to not include 3G in every phone. There are still a lot of markets in the world that don’t provide 3G and some of them are among the biggest markets.
Hope the phone attempts to workaround the limitations of G1 and also takes the android to the next level
GTA02 was the working name for the Neo Freerunner. Since Google opened the Android source code it has been possible to re-compile the Android source for the Freerunner. There has been no talk of a new handset – just new software running on the existing one. The Freerunner already runs several software stacks, including the original GTK based stack, QTopia, A hybrid GTK/X11/Qtopia, Debian GNU/Linux and others. That’s the wonderful thing about having a truly open handset.
