Asus just unveiled a special eco-friendly laptop, dubbed the Bamboo Series, and we got touchy feely with it at Stuff Live. It’s gorgeous, green and features the first wooden trackpad we’ve ever seen.
Clad in bamboo, it’s no a cheap re-skinning either. It’s a moulded case, with the wood curved around the computer’s edges. According to Asus it’s completely sustainable, and vastly reduces the laptop’s carbon footprint.
Even the trackpad’s made of bamboo, with a subtle “ribbed” effect, contrasting with the rest of the smooth shell.
Inside there’s a 2.53Ghz Intel Core2Duo processor, 4GB of memory a 320GB hard drive 8-in-1 card reader and a 12 inch LED-backlit screen.
There’s Wi-Max inside too and a built-in webcam, and Asus have even created a bamboo-clad mouse to partner the laptop.
Feast your eyes on our hands-on pictures below, and if you’re in London this weekend get along to the Stuff Live show and see it yourself!
