DataViz has announced on its website that it’s soon releasing Documents To Go for iPhone, promising the chance to edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files on your iPhone for the first time.
Documents To Go is already the must-have software for editing Microsoft Office documents on BlackBerry, Palm, Symbian and Windows Mobile. So much so that a basic version comes bundled with many smartphones.
The premium version, which might cost around £19-31 ($30-50) based on the prices for other platforms, lets you author Microsoft Office files, spell check, track changes and do pretty much anything else you can do on a PC or Mac.
Will a free version of Documents to Go soon come bundled with iPhones? We hope so. But the killer question is whether DataViz will create its own copy and paste function for the software, seeing as the iPhone doesn’t have one.
