Our congratulations go to Plantronics for brightening a chilly Tuesday with a big slab of preposterous show off consumerism. That’s right folks; the dinky gold Bluetooth headset to your right is worth a cool £50k.
Forget notions of kaput banks, rising unemployment, negative equity and monstrous fuel prices because bling loving MOBO award attendees including Jessie Metcalf and Billie Ocean no less, will soon be bidding obscene amounts of money for the unique 18k gold, diamond and pearl headset – The Discovery 925 Jewel.
Specification for the actual headset are scarce but we can confirm it has 40 diamonds and 31 natural pearls.
Thankfully saving you all from more frothy-mouthed ranting is Luc Ackaert, EMEA Consumer Head for Plantronics and Altec Lansing who has announced that the headset will at least be “auctioned off for charity” so some good will come from such a horrible (in every sense) headset.
Is it just us or does this actually resemble something your nephew would be disappointed to win at the fair? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
