First it was London, on the Millennium Bridge, with a mere 80 people in March. Then it was Germany at the Connichi show, with 337 people. Now the World Record for largest gathering of people dressed as videogame characters is back in Britain.

342 cosplayers gathered on the steps outside the London Excel centre as part of the London Games Festival and MCM Expo. And apparently a further 50 or so more were turned away for being dressed as a character “primarily famous from movies”. Tough rules!

More pictures from the event here and of cosplayers after wandering around the MCM expo here. Quite what rounding up large groups of people dressed as Final Fantasy characters says about British and German culture, I’m not sure. And just wait until the Japanese and Koreans get going on this one. But for now… suck on those superior numbers global cosplayers!
