HTC’s not fussy who it makes phones for, but there’s an increasing trend of network operators bagging the best ones for themselves. First T-Mobile nabbed the G1, and now Orange has the exclusive rights to the HTC Touch HD. Unfortunately, however, it’s intent on milking that exclusivity. And your wallet.
Due out on November 6, it’s a touchscreen beauty with a whopping 3.8 inch display, 5 megapixel camera and HTC’s newest TouchFlo menus.
There’s also HSDPA, and since Windows Mobile is running underneath HTC’s shiny software, it’s immediately compatible with tons of apps.
According to the gadget hounds at Stuff, Orange has exclusive rights to the new phone until 2009, slapping an £80 price tag on it and requiring anyone who wants it to sign up for an 18 month contract at £40 per month.
Now, call us credit-crunched, but that seems mighty expensive, especially considering web browsing on that gorgeous screen will be limited to 250MB each month.
Touch HD? Touch Pricey more like.

Agreed, a great phone, but 250mb a month is pathetic!!!
WAKE UP ORANGE!
