True, it only just sweeps in under the £100 mark by a single pound, but whichever way you look at it – the Imovio iKit is one cheap piece of, er, kit.
It’s tiny too – measuring just 95×65x15.5mm yet it still has space to squeeze in a full Qwerty keyboard. The display, on the other hand, is titchy at just 2.8in – there are mobile phones with bigger screens than that.
Given the cut down price, the spec list is equally sparse. It runs on a 312MHz Marvell PXA270 chip (no, us neither) and is only equipped with a meagre 128MB RAM. User storage is split into two tiny chunks: 12MB for data and 23MB for media – which not sure what the difference is, but given how small that is you’re probably best just sticking an 8GB MicroSD card in its slot and using that instead. As you can imagine, Windows is out, leaving Linux to fill the gap. It does come with Wi-Fi built in, though.
