Google launches Gmail for mobile 2.0

Gmail for mobile 2.0

Google has introduced the second version of its Gmail client for mobile phones. Aside from the usual performance tweaks, the new edition allows users to access then emails even when offline.

Yep, you can now compose and read recent emails when you don’t have a signal or access to Wi-Fi, while outgoing messages will be saved in the outbox until you’re back in coverage.

Google also promises speedier overall performance, the ability to save multiple drafts and to switch between multiple accounts quickly. Users of phones equipped with QWERTY keyboards can now use shortcuts too, tapping Z to undo, K to move to a newer conversation and J to go to an older conversation.

Point your mobile’s browser at “m.google.com/mail” to grab the new version for BlackBerry and J2ME-supported handsets.
