If you’re looking for an ultra-high end player to lavish your Blu-ray discs with the best possible video processing, noise reduction and all sorts of other loveliness, Denon’s latest behemoth might be right up your street.

The DVD-3800BD is the firm’s first full-on player (the existing DVD-1800BD is a much more basic “transport” lacking built-in audio processing), and comes loaded with video processing courtesy of Silicon Optix Realta and HQV, which promises to squeeze every last drop of picture quality out of the already sparkling hi-def format.

There’s also upscaling for your standard DVDs, with everything jazzed up to pristine 1080p.

Denon hasn’t spared the audio side of things either: the player can decode both the Dolby TrueHD and the DTS-HD Master Audio lossless surround sound formats. It’s looking like a fantastic package for anyone with the necessary bank balance…

Out December | £1,600 | Denon (via Tech Digest)
