The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall of Rage Wireless Guitars. One of the Wii peripherals, which has already sold over 55,000 units in the US, was found to have a defective circuit board that caused batteries to leak acid, burning its user.
Despite listing Dixons as one of the stockists of the manufacturer PDP’s products, it does not appear the Rage was available in the UK. So it’s unlikely that your guitar will go up in flames anytime soon – unless you’re emulating Jimi Hendrix.
However, coming hot on the heels of several Chinese manufacturing scandals (the guitar was made in China), then be warned – almost any of your home electronics could theoretically contain dodgy chemicals, be about to explode or melt spontaneously into a gooey mess on your carpet. You have been warned!
