Owners of the new BlackBerry Storm can look forward to a ton of apps for their handset, as long as they’re willing to wait. RIM just announced it won’t be launching the store until March 2009.
As suspected, it’ll be much like Apple’s iPhone offering, with developers able to set any price for their apps, but mobile networks will be able to boycott apps from the store too.
Storm owners will be able to use PayPal to fork over money for BlackBerry apps, and developers will bag a whopping 80% of revenue from the store.
However, with the store not going live until March, that’s a long time to wait without apps for new BlackBerry owners. Meanwhile, Apple and Android march ahead.
