UPDATE: It’s official! Dell has finally ripped the covers off the Inspiron Mini 12. Read all the official details here!
After all the furore over Dell’s dinky Inspiron Mini 9 laptop has died down, Dell has managed to stoke the anticipation flames once more by publishing support pages for the Dell Inspiron Mini 12.
Although, obviously, this isn’t confirmed – it looks like Dell is pretty far down the path to producing a 12-inch companion to the Mini 9. There’s even a user manual complete with specs available.
According to the early documents, it’ll be powered by either an Intel Z520 or Z530 Atom chip and 1GB of memory. The screen will be 12.1-inch with a 1,280×800 resolution and it comes with the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, three USB ports, Ethernet, VGA and audio. Ubuntu Linux is apparently on the cards too, although we’re hoping there’ll be regular XP version to match.

It sounds no more exciting than the 700m I am using to write this comment. C’mon Dell, give me a flippin’ reason to care.
