Keeping noise at bay is a tricky business, so trust the chaps at Denon to get it right. These are the company’s first ever noise cancelling headphones, and what a debut they are, blocking out 99% of external hubbub, so you enjoy your tunes in peace.

Dubbed the AH-NC732, they’ll set you back £250, but for the money you’ll get a pair of ultra-light (160g to be precise) ear-coverers, that block out almost all external noise, and keep working for up to 40 hours on a single AAA battery.

They’re iPhone compatible too, and come with adapters for airline seats or large headphone sockets. If you just fancy some peace and quiet, the cable’s detachable too – perfect for a spot of shut-eye on a plane, without worrying you’ll wake up garrotted by your own headphone lead.

Out now | £250 | Denon (available from Advanced MP3 Players)
