Toshiba Portege R600 breaks cover - with 9-hour battery life!

The latest addition to Toshiba’s Portege laptop range has just popped up on the firm’s Canadian website. The R600 is a 12.1-inch, sub-1kg notebook with a claimed battery life of nine hours.

It runs on a 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor and 2GB of memory (upgradeable to 5GB), and can be kitted out with either 128GB of solid state storage or a standard 160GB hard drive. There’s also a DVD burner built-in.

There’s no word on a UK launch date or price as yet, but it’s priced up at $2,400 Canadian dollars - which converts to around £1,225. We’ll bring you more news as we get it.
