If you thought the Sony product placement in Casino Royale was a little over the top, you’ll be disappointed (but probably unsurprised) to learn that it won’t be letting up in Bond’s next outing: according to reports, no less than seven different Sony Ericsson mobiles pop up in The Quantum of Solace!
007 himself will be seen using a C902 (in a limited edition titanium finish – secret agents get all the best gadgets, after all), while baddie Matthus will be toting a G700 – also used by M and Villiers. Other characters will be rocking a W910, W350, G900 and even the W707 Alicia – a handset that’s apparently been cancelled by Sony Ericsson and won’t ever go on sale.
Bond’s special edition C902 will appear in shops, however, and will come loaded with the usual limited ed goodies: wallpapers, ring tones and themes. It’s expected to be available in the fourth quarter of the year, while the film will debut in UK cinemas on the 31st October.
