Motorola VC6096Ugly phone alert: the Motorola VC6096 is a great prop if you want to pretend to be a parking enforcement officer. And as the world’s heaviest Windows Mobile device, it’s weighty enough to fend off would-be muggers (not that they’d want to steal this phone).

Basically, the VC6096 won’t turn you on unless you’re a delivery guy or fleet manager, in which case you will be salivating at the prospect of putting one of these babies on your dashboard, or in an exceedingly large pocket.

The rugged industrial handset, running Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, weighs in at a hefty 2.2kg. It packs GSM, HSDPA, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, plus as many sockets as you’d find on the back of an average PC.

It also has a full Qwerty keyboard and a whopping 6.5inch touchscreen, compared with the iPhone 3G’s puny 3.5-incher. But we don’t see Apple trembling.

Seen a handset that’s been beaten with the ugly stick? The comments box is below, you know what to do.
