Is this the craziest phone you’ve ever seen? Yamaha thinks the one thing we’re all missing from our mobiles is… wait for it… a trumpet. Yes. A trumpet.
The company’s built a ton of prototypes with musical instruments grafted onto the side. There’s a trumpet, harmonica, bass, flute or a classic old-school synth. There are even versions with clamshell-style fold-out keyboards, and a guitar phone with a set of slide-out strings. Bonkers.
In less barmy, but still odd tech news, it seems the mystery surrounding the Apple Brick has been solved. Word reaches us that it isn’t a secret new product at all, but rather a cunning new manufacturing method.
Apple’s rumoured to be creating brand new MacBooks from a solid “brick” of aluminium. It means less weight, fewer screws, and absolutely zero chance of defects in the material. Find out more about the Apple Brick here.
Elsewhere, more information about the BlackBerry Storm is leaking out. Now we hear the phone will pack multi-touch as well as slick copy and paste abilities. That’s sure to have Steve Jobs reaching for his stress ball.
